THE POWER OF GRATITUDE: Gratitude is a Wonderful Attitude!

Where Petals Unfold, Hearts Flourish

Hi Lilies! A grateful attitude is a game changer – let’s talk about how it can transform our lives. Gratitude by its very nature demands a positive outlook. We can only be grateful if we are able to recognize the good that is happening in our lives. Gratitude is showing appreciation for those good, positive things. I believe that the people, events, and actions that bring us joy should be documented for future references, perhaps, through journaling.

Writing about our life experiences can be cathartic and is a powerful way to ensure that our life’s journey – our goals, accomplishments, our wins and our defeats are not forgotten. Journaling is like our back up memory bank, when we feel as if we’re not making progress, those gratitude moments that were documented will remind us otherwise, looking back at our past efforts and accomplishments will inspire us to keep going and doing more; examining those past defeats will either cause us to try again or they will make us breathe a sigh of relief, (not every defeat is a loss). I am often surprised by some of the things I read when I go through my gratitude journals, some of those things I had totally forgotten about, others just make me smile and give me a sense of pride, because at face value, I sometimes feel like I’m not getting much done, but when I go through my journals I feel very thankful as I see how far I’ve come and how much I’ve grown and accomplished. If you haven’t started yet, pick up journaling, especially gratitude journaling, its a good healthy habit!
